Bench Events employs sponsorship director to bolster conference development

Bench Events, the global business event organiser, has appointed Harrison Bar-Shimon to spearhead the development and launch of new events worldwide.

In his position as Sponsorship Director, Harrison will be responsible for developing sponsorship and new business revenues across Bench Events’ international portfolio. Proficient in Spanish, French and Hebrew, Harrison was raised in London.

Harrison has 8 years’ B2B media experience, including over 7 years’ experience working for Euromoney Institutional Investor plc, including 3 years working with clients in Asia-Pacific and Europe at IJGlobal. Previously, Harrison spent 4 years working on Executive education and Corporate training programmes at Euromoney Learning, on both the sales and production-side, developing public and in-house training courses for banks, financial institutions, corporate and public sector clients. Most recently Harrison was International Business Development Manager at BroadGroup and Data Economy. Harrison has media experience across a range of industry sectors, including banking and finance, project finance, energy and infrastructure, telecoms and data centres. He will be supporting the launch of OpRE – Bench Events’ new Operational Real Estate Festival, focussing on the hotelisation of real estate. This inaugural event will take place on 15-16 June 2020 at the Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam.

As well as supporting the development of the Real Estate portfolio, Harrison will also be working on developing the commercial plans for Bench Impact. In 2020 he shall work across the Bench Events portfolio enabling the organisation to achieve their exciting growth plans. He is passionate about nurturing commercial opportunities to drive local and international investments worldwide.

In his spare time Harrison enjoys hosting dinner parties, films, and travelling – he has visited 50 countries so far! He has a passion for languages, and is proficient in Spanish, French and Hebrew. He has a degree in modern languages (BA Language and Culture) from University College London and has also studied abroad at the Universidad de Buenos Aires in Argentina, and at Aish HaTorah Yeshiva in Jerusalem.
